Michael Cohen Takes Jab At President Trump Before He Reports To Prison

Former Trump Lawyer Michael Cohen

On Monday (May 6), Michael Cohen reported to jail to begin his three-year prison sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, New York. Cohen, who worked as President Donald Trump's personal attorney, pleaded guilty last year to campaign finance violations, tax evasion and lying to Congress.

Before leaving his New York City apartment, Cohen took a shot at President Trump, telling reporters that he hopes Trump does not win reelection in 2020.

“I hope that when I rejoin my family and friends that the country will be in place without xenophobia, injustice and lies at helm of our country,” he said.

He also told the press that he still has more to say about his time serving as the personal lawyer for Trump.

"There still remains much to be told, and I look forward to the day that I can share the truth," Cohen said.

Cohen will join 115 inmates at Otisville, including Jersey Shore star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, and Billy McFarland, who is serving a six-year prison sentence for fraud relating to the failed Fyre Festival.

A 2009 report by Forbes ranked the facility at Otisville as one of the ten cushiest prisons in America.
