Constituent Wants Apology From Rep. Fine

(Tallahassee, FL) -- A Brevard County man believes an elected official owes him an apology. Palm Bay's Paul Halpern says State Rep. Randy Fine should apologize for calling him a Judenrat on Facebook a couple weeks ago. Fine's comment was made after Halpern expressed support for an event held in Melbourne to discuss Palestine, which Fine, who is Jewish, says does not exist. Judenrat refers to Jews who collaborated with Nazis, and Halpern recently told the Orlando Sentinel there's no worse name you can call a Jewish person.

Jonchuck Convicted In Daughter's Death 

(Largo, FL) -- A Pinellas County man who threw his daughter off a bridge will spend the rest of his life in prison. A jury yesterday found John Jonchuck guilty of first-degree murder in the death of five-year-old Phoebe Jonchuck. He claimed he was insane when he threw her off the Dick Misener Bridge four years ago, but lawyers for the 29-year-old were unable to convince jurors, who deliberated for more than six hours.

Miami-Dade Teen Wanted For Threatening Columbine High School 

(Denver, CO) -- The FBI is searching for a Miami-Dade teenager considered armed and extremely dangerous. Surfside 18-year-old Sol Pais [[ Pi-EE-ss ]] is wanted for threatening violence yesterday against schools in the Denver, Colorado area. She left her home on 90th Street on Monday, and the FBI believes she's in Denver. In the past, she has expressed an infatuation with the Columbine High School shooting that took place 20 years ago this weekend.

Man Regrets Burying Friend In Backyard 

(Orlando, FL) -- An Orange County man is having second thoughts about his decision to bury a body in his backyard. The body of 27-year-old Brandon Boone was found in Greg Palermo's backyard this weekend, and Palermo told deputies he buried his friend after Boone died of a drug overdose two months ago. Palermo says it seemed like the normal thing to do because Boone had no family, but he tells Channel 9 he realizes now what he did was wrong. Palermo has not been charged, but the investigation is ongoing.  

Senate Bill Addresses Hurricane Prep 

(Tallahassee, FL) -- Lawmakers are taking steps to make sure the state is better prepared for the next hurricane. A Senate bill that passed in committee yesterday calls for a review of how many shelters are needed. It also proposes using federal money for a single-family home rental program. Tallahassee Senator Bill Montford is behind the bill, and he says he and his Panhandle colleagues will be fighting to get it passed.

Naked Man Robs Little League Concession Stand 

(Dunedin, FL) -- A search is underway for a man who, while naked, robbed a Pinellas County Little League. The robbery took place over a week ago in Dunedin when the man broke into the concession stand at Fisher Field and stole some cash. It's not clear how much money he took, but he caused about four thousand dollars in damage.

Alligator Found At Florida Walmart 

(Wimauma, FL) -- Customers at a Walmart in Florida got a scare from huge alligator loitering at the store. Deputies were called to the store south of Tampa to find an eight-and-a-half-foot gator there. They had to call in a wildlife trapper to remove the giant reptile. The trapper was able to remove it without it hurting anyone.
