Demings Calls For More Investigations Into Trump 

(Washington, DC) -- While a Florida Republican says it's time to move on, a Democrat wants more investigations into President Trump's ties to Russia. The Justice Department yesterday released a summary of the Mueller report, and the attorney general says the report shows no proof of collusion between Trump and Russia's government. Republican Senator Rick Scott says we should now focus on more important issues, but Orlando Democratic Congresswoman Val Demings says it's an absolute necessity for Congress to continue its own investigation. Demings also says that, contrary to Trump's claims, the Mueller report does not exonerate him.  

Driver Pulled From Pond 

(Palm Bay, FL) -- Rescuers are credited with freeing a driver whose car wound up in a retention pond in Palm Bay. The driver went off the road late yesterday morning near the Palm Bay Road exit of I-95. Palm Bay Fire Rescue responded and pulled the driver to safety. The driver is expected to survive.There's no word on what caused the car to go off the road.

MSD Parent Responds To Suicides 

(Parkland, FL) -- It's time for parents to have some tough conversations with their kids in Parkland. That's what parent Ryan Petty said recently after an apparent second suicide in the last week of a Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student. A male sophomore shot himself to death this weekend, and Petty, who lost a daughter in last year's school shooting, says he's just devastated. He says it hurts that there are kids still suffering, and parents can't afford to be afraid to discuss suicide with their kids.

Former Death Row Inmate Shares Story At Stetson 

(DeLand, FL) -- A former death row inmate is proof of what can happen if you never give up. Anthony Hinton spoke at Stetson University last week to discuss the 30 years he spent in an Alabama prison for a murder he didn't commit. The 62-year-old says he never let his situation break him, and he never stopped fighting the charges against him. He told students if they believe in something, they should always stand up for it.

Powerball Ticket Lines Grow 

(Charleston, WV) -- As the new work week begins, some are taking a minute on the morning drive to stop and buy a Powerball ticket. Nobody won Saturday's drawing. The new Powerball jackpot is expected to be around 750-million dollars. The next drawing is Wednesday evening. 

Deputies Rescue Bear Cubs From Flooded Den 

(Ashland County, WI) -- A pair of Wisconsin deputies are being hailed as heroes after they rescued two bear cubs from a flooded den. Ashland County Sheriff's deputies Zach Pierce and Dylan Wegner reportedly heard the tiny bears screaming from their flooded den near the Bad River Indian Reservation on Friday. The deputies dried the soaking wet bears off, warmed them up and left them for their mother who was apparently waiting nearby. 

Woman Accused Of Bringing Contraband, Including Steaks, Into Oklahoma Prison 

(Osage County, OK) -- A woman is facing charges after bringing contraband, including a steaks and homemade potato skins, into an Oklahoma prison. Last Tuesday, the Oklahoma Department of Corrections said a woman identified as Wakanda Johnson recently tried to sneak the homemade meal, along with marijuana, liquid THC and a cellphone into Dick Connor Correctional Center. Authorities also obtained a search warrant for her home where they seized more drugs and four-thousand-dollars in cash.
