Boeing Max 8 Planes Land In Melbourne
(Melbourne, FL) -- The deadly plane crash in Africa is having repercussions in Brevard County. Since last weekend's crash that killed more than 150 people in Ethiopia, Boeing has grounded its 737 Max 8 and Max 9 planes. Last night, two of those planes arrived, without passengers, at Melbourne International Airport. Airport officials tell Florida Today 20 more of the planes could arrive there as well, but there's no word on how long they would remain there or why Melbourne was chosen.
Man Commits Suicide At OIA
(Orlando, FL) -- A man is dead after an apparent suicide at Orlando International Airport. Police say the man jumped, yesterday, from the 11th floor of the B parking garage. He was taken to the hospital where he passed away. Last month, a TSA worker committed suicide by jumping from a balcony inside the airport.
Arrest Made In 1984 Murder
(Sanford, FL) -- After almost 35 years, a murder committed in Seminole County appears to be solved. Sheriff Dennis Lemma announced yesterday that a 59-year-old Jacksonville man has been arrested for the 1984 murder of 25-year-old Pamela Cahanes, who was found beaten and strangled to death in Sanford. Lemma says DNA evidence found under her fingernails led to the arrest of Thomas Garner, who was not previously a suspect. He will have his first court appearance today.
Florida U.S. Senators Split On Trump Rebuke
(Washington, D.C.) -- The Republican-led Senate is rebuking President Trump over his declaration of a national emergency at the southern border. Several Republicans, including Florida Senator Marco Rubio, joined Democrats in passing a resolution of disapproval. The resolution recently passed the House and will now go to Trump's desk. The President has promised to veto the measure.

Runner Scales Eiffel Tower's Steps In Less Than 8 Minutes
(Paris, France) -- A Polish elite runner is the winner of the Eiffel Tower Vertical. This racing event draws in as many as 130 competitors who try to run up the one-thousand-six-hundred-65 steps of the Eiffel tower as fast as they can. Piotr Lobodzinski completed the feat in seven minutes, 53-seconds. That's a whole minute ahead of the male runner in second place. Australian athlete Suzy Walsham came in first place on the female end with a time of 10 minutes, 16-seconds.
Cops In Colorado Share Shoplifting Suspect's Phone Selfie
(Lakeside, CO) -- Police in Lakeside, Colorado are looking for a shoplifting suspect who recently left behind some serious evidence in the case. The department posted the young man's selfie taken with the cell phone he left behind at the scene. Their Facebook post urges the suspect to come retrieve his belonging and his shoplifting charge. Police say they hope to see him soon.
