Former "The Voice" singer Janice Freeman died this past Saturday in Pasadena, California from an apparent blood clot, according to TMZ.
Freeman's family revealed to the publication that she complained of breathing complications to husband Dion, who called emergency services and performed CPR until paramedics could arrive to the scene. Janice was then transported to the hospital and pronounced dead at 5:30 PM. TMZ also reports that the blood clot traveled to her heart.
The reality show contestant was no stranger to battling severe health issues, sharing that she had overcome lupus, cervical cancer and meningitis.
As for her tenure on "The Voice," Janice was mentored by Miley Cyrus on season 13 in 2017. The two were revealed to have stayed in touch after the show, with Janice publicly thanking Cyrus for helping her out while in a financial rough spot.
