Ertel Addresses Blackface Photos 

(Sanford,  FL)  -- A former Seminole County official blames his downfall, in part, on an act of revenge. Yesterday Former Florida Secretary of State and former Seminole Elections Supervisor Mike Ertell addressed his resignation which came after a photo emerged that showed him in blackface at a Halloween party in 2005. On Facebook Ertel said he did something stupid that gave someone from his past a chance for revenge. He added that his rise from homeless teenager to secretary of state shows the American dream is a reality, and he looks forward to his next adventure. 

Off-Duty TSA Agent Commits Suicide At Orlando Airport 

(Orlando,  FL)  -- Police are calling the death of an off-duty TSA officer at Orlando International Airport an apparent suicide. The male officer in his 40s had just clocked out of work before he allegedly jumped from the balcony of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in the airport atrium Saturday morning. His fall caused havoc as passengers tried to flee the area, including some who went unscreened into a restrictive area. The FAA halted inbound flights for about two hours and it was about three hours before operations returned to normal. 

Man Killed While Sitting In Road 

(Micco,  FL)  -- A man is dead after he was hit by a car while sitting in the road. FHP says 30-year-old Robert Tobianski was sitting on US One in Brevard County near Micco on Saturday when he was hit. It's not clear why he was sitting in the road. The driver who hit him was not hurt. 

Girl Arrested For Bomb Threat 

(Titusville,  FL)  -- A student is facing charges for making a bomb threat against a school in Brevard County. The 15-year-old girl was arrested last week after word was phoned in of an attack to take place today at Titusville High School. Police believe the threat was a hoax, but they say these kinds of incidents will not be tolerated. She's charged with a second-degree felony.

Man Kills Roommate Over Music 

(Ocala,  FL)  -- A man is dead after an argument over music. Marion County deputies say Jairo Rodas stabbed his roommate to death in Ocala this weekend on North US Highway 27. Deputies say Rodas told them he and Salvador Contreras were drinking and listening to music when the argument started. As the argument got heated, Rodas allegedly said he stabbed Contreras to death and later told deputies he knows what he did was wrong.  

Rare Heart-Shaped Meteorite Up For Auction 

(Undated) -- If you’re looking for that one of a kind Valentine’s Day gift, look no further.A 320-year-old heart-shaped meteorite is up for auction, just in time for Valentine's Day. Christie's announced that the "Heart of Space" will be up for auction from February 6th to February 14th. It is expected to net between three-hundred-thousand and five-hundred-thousand dollars. The meteorite was supposedly formed when it broke free from a larger meteorite at a high altitude as it flew over Siberia. It was obtained from New York's Macovich Collection of Meteorites. 

Florida Teen Steals Papa John's Delivery Car To Visit Boyfriend 

(Lehigh Heights, FL) -- A 14-year-old girl in Florida is going to extreme lengths to see her boyfriend. Lee County police say Josie Bigelow stole a Papa John's delivery car to visit her boyfriend last week. Bigelow allegedly ordered pizzas and had them sent to her neighbor's house on January 30th. When the delivery driver left his car and approached the entrance of the neighbor's home, Bigelow emerged from the bushes and drove off in the car. She prompted a police chase which ended about six miles away from the scene. Police are charging Bigelow with grand theft of an automobile and she was briefly booked in a Juvenile Assessment center.
