Christina Aguilera Praises 'Fierce' Fellow Grammy Nominee Demi Lovato

Christina Aguilera has so much love for her gal Demi Lovato.

The "Fighter" singer had nothing but beautiful words for the former Disney star, with whom Aguilera shares a nomination at the 2019 Grammy Awards for Best Pop Duo/Group for their smash record "Fall in Line."

In a video interview with Associated Press, the 38-year-old spoke fondly of Lovato's strength, "fierce talent," and for pulling through one of the most difficult moments of her life after the "Sorry Not Sorry" star suffered a near-fatal overdose in July 2018, months after the stars joined forces on the visual for their duet.

"Demi was just such a sweetheart to work with and to shoot that video with," Aguilera told AP of her co-collaborator. "Just to unite with a female that also grew up in the business and knows what's that's like and to have her own stories and her own journey."

"[Demi's] such an admirable young female who is figuring her own stuff out and knowing how to be strong and pull through," Aguilera continued, adding, "Everybody has their own things they go through, and I just am so proud of her and I just think she’s so adorable and such a talent, such a fierce talent.”

It wasn't until months after the traumatic episode that Lovato found her footing again, emerging in the public eye after more than 90 days clean and fresh out of rehab in November 2018.

"Woke up filled with hope," the 26-year-old tweeted following her Grammy nom with Aguilera. "Dreams come true y’all... thank you @xtina. I love you so much.”

Aside from a possible Grammy win, Xtina recently unveiled her upcoming "Xperience" Las Vegas residency, starting on May 31. (Get details here.)

Additionally, Demi Lovato is nominated at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards for Latin Song of the Year for her track with Luis Fonsi, "Échame la Culpa." Fans can vote via Twitter using the appropriate category and nominee hashtags, or by visiting iHeartRadio.com/awards through March 7 (March 13 for Best Fan Army).
