Judge Holds Hearing On Recount Lawsuit (Fort Lauderdale, FL) -- A judge is rejecting Governor Rick Scott's bid to have vote tabulation equipment in Broward County impounded by law enforcement during the recount. At an emergency hearing yesterday, Circuit Judge Jack Tuter urged lawyers to come up with a plan to add more sheriff's deputies to oversee the vote-counting process. He also called on both sides to tone down their rhetoric, saying he's seen no evidence of wrongdoing in the ballot count.
Brevard County Business Owner Says She Was Scammed Out Of Thousands (Titusville, FL) -- A business owner in Brevard County says online scammers stole more than 20-grand from her company. Jackie McLaughlin, owner of Accurate Metal Door in Titusville, told WKMG-TV in Orlando that the scam began with an email inquiring about purchasing commercial doors from the company. After a string of emails, the "customer" began paying McLaughlin's company. The scammers paid for the first three orders with a credit card, at 20-thousand dollars each. The fourth payment was declined, and the credit card company said the card was being used fraudulently. McLaughlin says she paid about 27-thousand dollars in shipping fees to a company the scammers requested before finding out about the fraud. Investigators think the scammers set up a fake website, price quotes and a bill for that shipping company. Titusville police say fraud cases like this are on the rise, and they want business owners to be aware of them.
Disney Visitor Banned For Holding Up Trump Banner On A Ride (Lake Buena Vista, FL) -- Walt Disney World is revoking the annual pass of a man who held up a "Trump 2020" banner on a ride at one of its theme parks. According to WFTV-TV in Orlando, Don Cini can be seen in photographs holding the banner as he rode on the Splash Mountain Ride at Disney's Magic Kingdom last week. He was also spotted holding a "Keep America Great Again" sign on a ride at Disney's Animal Kingdom park. Disney revoked Cini's annual pass, which he says he's had for more than 20 years. It initially banned Cini from the parks in September for unfurling a large "Trump 2020" banner at the Magic Kingdom. The resort had a change of heart and let him back in, as long as he agreed not to hang any more flags in the parks. Disney prohibits "the usage of any flag, banner or sign to incite a crowd" in its park rules.
First Drive-Thru Marijuana Dispensary In Central Florida Opens (Orange County, FL) -- Central Florida's first drive-thru marijuana dispensary opens this week. Curaleaf's new medical marijuana dispensary on North Semoran Boulevard had its soft opening on Friday. According to the Orlando Sentinel, the dispensary is holding its grand opening on Thursday. Curaleaf has another drive-thru dispensary in Palm Harbor.

That's according to Wallet-Hub releasing its report on 2018's Best and Worst Cities for Singles. Of the 182 cities studied, Atlanta, Georgia and Denver, Colorado are the spots where singles have the highest chance of finding love. At the bottom of the singles-friendly list are Pembroke Pines, Florida and Brownsville, Texas. Detroit has the highest share of singles at almost 74 percent with Fremont, California have the lowest percentage of singles at nearly 38 percent.
