Michael Expected To Impact Volusia And Flagler Counties  (Undated) -- The effects of Hurricane Michael will likely be strongest in the panhandle where landfall is anticipated tomorrow.  Governor Rick Scott called Michael a massive storm that could bring total devastation, and he warned it might be the most destructive storm to hit the Panhandle in decades. Some effects will likely be felt in Volusia and Flagler counties. Tropical storm force winds are expected tomorrow as the storm moves toward the Panhandle. A Flagler County official expects winds to approach 60 miles an hour. Up to two inches of rain is also expected through Thursday.

FSU Closing Due To Michael  (Tallahassee, FL) -- Because of Hurricane Michael Florida State is closing its Tallahassee and Panama City campuses for the week. Both locations shut down at midnight. Classes and normal operations are expected to resume on Monday.

Trump Plans To Campaign For DeSantis  (Orlando, FL) -- President Trump is planning to get involved in the governor's race. He was in Orlando yesterday to address the International Association of Chiefs of Police. He said he'll attend what he predicts will be a big a rally for Republican nominee Ron DeSantis, and he calls DeSantis a winner, a hard worker and a great congressman. Trump also tells Channel 9 if Democratic nominee Andrew Gillum wins, Florida will become another Venezuela.

The president credits Brett Kavanaugh for dealing with what he calls a disgraceful situation. He talked about Kavanaugh's recent Supreme Court confirmation at that Orlando event yesterday. He called Kavanaugh flawless, and he believes it was unfair that Kavanaugh had to deal with false charges, false accusations and horrible false statements. Trump says Kavanaugh's ordeal was brought on by people who were evil.

No Injuries In Small Plane Crash  (Brevard County, FL) -- No injuries are reported on a crash of a small plane heading for Sanford. Yesterday afternoon the Cirrus S-20 lost oil pressure and made a hard landing about a mile west of I-95 on State Road 407. The landing gear broke off during the crash.

Man Uses CPR To Save Squirrel That Was Hit By Car  (Brooklyn Park, MN) -- A Minnesota man is being hailed as a hero after saving a squirrel with CPR. The man apparently hit the squirrel with his car and felt obligated to help the furry friend out. So, he used a gloved hand to push down on the squirrel's motionless chest. A few police officers stopped by to see why the man had pulled over. They saw the man attempting to revive the squirrel and recommended flipping it over. As soon as the creature was flipped over, it scurried off into the nearby trees.

Bus Driver Suspended For Letting Monkey Drive  (Bangalore) -- Monkey see, monkey drive. A bus driver in Southern India was suspended Saturday after video of him letting a monkey handle the steering wheel went viral. The video shows the monkey on the wheel while the driver smiles and pets it. The state-run transportation corporation that operates the buses said putting a monkey behind the wheel was too much of a risk to passenger safety.
