Viral Video Captures Man Taunting Bison At Yellowstone National Park

A very brave, or very stupid, man was captured on video taunting a bison that had brought traffic to a standstill at Yellowstone National Park. The crazy footage was recorded by Lindsey Jones as her family was driving through the Grand Loop in the Hayden Valley, an area known for wildlife sightings.

"We noticed behind us a man in socks and no shoes walking up the road towards the bison. He gestured to the animal to get off the road and then proceeded to challenge him," Jones told ABC News

The unidentified man was seen yelling at the bison, prompting it to charge toward him. He barely managed to sidestep the horns of the large animal. Jones said that she was not sure what happened to the man, but the bison appeared to lose interest after failing to gore him.

"The bison went after him a couple of times and then carried on with what he was doing before he was bothered."

Officials from Yellowstone said they are investigating the incident and told People his actions were "reckless."

“The individual’s behavior in this video is reckless, dangerous, and illegal. We need people to be stewards of Yellowstone, and one way to do that is to keep your distance from wildlife,” said Superintendent Dan Wenk.
