Kim Jong-Un Says They'll Give Up All Nukes On One Condition

North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un said Friday he would totally denuclearize the Korean peninsula if the United States declares the Korean War over and promises not to invade the North, the New York Times reports.

Kim said this during a meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in while meeting in a village on the border between North and South Korea. Kim also publicly vowed to shutdown the nuclear test site in May as well as disclose the process to experts and journalists from the United States and South Korea.

"I know the Americans are inherently disposed against us, but when they talk with us, they will see that I am not the kind of person who would shoot nuclear weapons to the south, over the Pacific or at the United States," Kim said.

North Korea has already announced they have suspended tests of nuclear devices and of its ballistic missile program. A peace summit between President Trump and Kim is expected to happen in May or June.

"Once we start talking, the United States will know that I am not a person to launch nuclear weapons at South Korea, the Pacific, or the United States," Kim is quoted as saying.
