RESPONSE UNDER SCRUTINY AS DEPUTY DID NOT ENTER SCENE
It is news devastating to the families of the Broward school shooting victims and to the idea that an armed, trained person is always the answer to a bad guy with a gun. The School Resource Officer responded to the scene, but did not enter for four minutes while the shooting was ongoing. He retired as he faced a suspension without pay for his inaction. His home is now being protected by other officers as the media (and likely others) are trying to make contact with him.
State Representative Randy Fine is with us at 7am. He was in Tallahassee in session this week as the aftermath of the shooting played out in the capital. His insights on the āsolutionsā presented will surprise you. Weāll see just what the state is considering in response.
Florida Today Executive Editor Bob Gabordi joins us at 8am as we continue the community discussion around this event and how Brevard is being impacted.
