WELCOME TO BREVARD POLITICS
The Brevard political scene has become a Three Ring Circus worthy of the attention of Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey! I have been warning against this for weeks, yet rookie elected officials and even those with a bit of experience cannot help themselves! And it UGLY! John Tobia wants to censure political opinion that is in opposition to his while he continues campaigning from his commission seat. Jim Barfield doubles down on the stupid by alleging illegal activity where there is no apparent violation of law. Tobia and his commission detractors bring unrelated issues of personality and business into the political war of discussion. Representative Randy Fine has his feelings on his sleeve and hasn’t figured out communication as an elected official. It all adds up to an ugly PR war that could easily have been settled had the officials listened to me along the way. Clearly, they don’t.
At Brevard’s Schools it only took 17 days of schoolin’ on BML to get him ready and now John Craig is the School Board Chair. I am sure he will serve in this position honorably and well. Should he have a problem, we can always reconvene class. In other school news the EDR lawsuit is settled and the district salvaged what they could from a bad contractual decision by the previous board (with the lead of one current board member).
And to his credit Congressman Bill Posey immediately answered my Facebook message yesterday and will be with us on December 4th to discuss the Conyers lies and sex scandal, the payoff of victims and the horrible process in play to protect, not victims but, members of congress. On a related front Charlie Rose is out at CBS 7 PBS. That trend could very well continue…except…in congress!
