With stories on why the government attack on soft drinks is failing and the Boy Scouts adding girls to its ranks, Representative Randy Fine may think his initiatives are under attack today. Maybe they should be. What happens when you turn speaking the truth into something it isn’t (like an allegation of racism)? You punish the wrong folks who were standing up for the right thing. As folks try to wipe out remnants of Civil War history, what happens when you change the name of a school, but really don’t? Some Brevard teachers are protesting for a raise. Their comparison is off and if that is what they want, maybe we should give it to them! Board Member Andy Ziegler is seeking reelection and some clarification on the investigation that cleared him of harassment allegations. Maybe he should have left well enough alone. We have those issues and more in play for today’s BML.
