GF of Man Who Killed Bronx Cop Details Scary Days Before Murder

Before Alexander Bonds shot a police officer in the Bronx on the night of July 4, he claimed lights from passing cars were a code only he could understand, his girlfriend tells the New York Times

The unnamed woman, who'd spent the previous four days with Bonds, says her boyfriend had told her he suffered from schizophrenia, but she'd seen no evidence of the condition during the six months she dated him. 

That changed on June 30. Having heard a rumor that a friend was upset with him, Bonds suddenly became convinced someone was conspiring against him, the woman says. As previously reported by the New York Daily News, Bonds was taken to a hospital on July 1 and sedated before being released. Days later, his paranoia returned.
