Brevard County Brush Fires Doused
(Brevard Co., FL) -- A couple of Brevard County brush fires have been contained. Fire Rescue personnel cut down the fires yesterday in the Carriage Gate subdivision of West Melbourne. The Florida Forest Service said the fires together are more than 70-percent contained. No one was hurt and no buildings are immediately threatened.
Walt Disney World Evacuation
(Lake Buena Vista, FL) -- Walt Disney World is all-clear after an evacuation due to a false fire threat. The park emptied the Contemporary Resort Saturday due to the issue. No one was hurt. The resort was one of the original hotels opened with the theme park in 1971.
PortMiami Smoking Luggage Evacuation
(Miami, FL) -- Business at Port Miami is back to normal after smoking luggage caused an emergency evacuation. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and bomb squad crews responded late yesterday to Terminal D which was closed for hours as teams looked into the matter. The exploding material was determined to be a malfunctioning e-cigarette. No one was hurt and the terminal reopened last night.
