Gun Found At Holly Hill School

(Holly Hill, FL) -- A loaded gun was found at a Holly Hill school. Campus officials at United Brethren in Christ Academy yesterday said a student found the firearm in a restroom and promptly notified administrators. Parents were notified of the threat. No one was hurt. Holly Hill police said the gun belonged to a 72-year-old school volunteer with a concealed weapons permit. That volunteer was criminally charged with bringing a firearm on school property. 

No Arrests In Mainland High School Fight

(Daytona Beach, FL) -- No arrests have been made after a Daytona Beach high school student suffered broken bones during a fight. The state attorney's office for Volusia County has opened in inquiry into an altercation that happened this week at Mainland High School that left a 17-year-old boy with a broken nose and jaw. The Volusia County school district suspended four students in connection to the fight.

Homestead Prisoner Escape

(Homestead, FL) -- The search continues for an escaped prisoner in Homestead. The Florida Department of Corrections said 40-year-old Marv Hubbard left a job detail site at the Dade Correctional Institution yesterday without authorization. Hubbard was set to be released this year from a 20-year prison sentence for burglary. Anyone with information on the man's whereabouts is asked to call 911. How do you pull a bonehead move like that when you are serving your last year and you are to be released?
