Palm Coast Teen Arrested

(Palatka, FL) -- A Palm Coast teen has been arrested for allegedly shooting at a police officer and his parents. Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said 19-year-old Phillip Haire Jr. turned himself in to the Putnam County jail in Palatka yesterday. Haire was wanted for a Monday evening shooting at his parents' Palm Coast home. Authorities said Haire hijacked a car and fired more than a dozen shots during a drive-by when a police officer was at the home. No one was hurt. He's held in the Putnam County jail charged with several counts including attempted second-degree murder on a law enforcement officer. He's expected in court for a hearing this morning.

Cocoa Man Arrested For Officer Hit-And-Run

(Cocoa, FL) -- A Cocoa man has been arrested for allegedly running down a city police officer. Rockledge police arrested 25-year-old Norman Scott yesterday for a weekend crash involving a motorman. Authorities said Scott was behind the vehicle of a car that hit Officer Rickford Leitch while Leitch escorted the Vietnam Memorial Wall to Melbourne. Scott is booked into the Brevard County jail on charges that include driving with a suspended license and fleeing the scene of an injury accident.

Kissimmee Firefighter Arrested

(Kissimmee, FL) -- A Kissimmee firefighter has been suspended after getting arrested for allegedly driving drunk with her child in the car. The Kissimmee Fire Department said firefighter Samantha Lopez is on suspension without pay after the incident. Lopez was arrested last week by Mount Dora police for allegedly driving erratically on State Road 500 in the company of her three-year-old daughter. It was her second DUI arrest since March. Lopez was hired by the Kissimmee Fire Department last year.

Helicopter Pilot Survives Marion County Crash

(Marion Co., FL) -- A Marion County Sheriff's Office pilot is lucky to be alive after surviving a helicopter crash. Sheriff Billy Woods says the pilot was fighting a smoldering wildfire in McCoy when the aircraft went down. The pilot was injured and taken to the hospital in stable condition. The FAA is investigating.
