Flagler Beach Man Arrested For Son's Death

 (Flagler Beach, FL) -- A Flagler Beach man is arrested for allegedly killing his adult son. Flagler Beach police booked 74-year-old Bobby Gore into the Volusia County jail yesterday after authorities said he killed his 31-year-old son Lucas at their home near South Daytona Avenue. Gore is charged with first-degree murder. 

Palm Bay Shooting Leads To Injuries 

(Palm Bay, FL) -- A couple of Palm Bay residents were injured and a suspect has been arrested after a shooting incident. Palm Bay police handcuffed an alleged perpetrator late yesterday at the 25-hundred block of Clinton Drive, near U.S. One. Authorities said one person was shot in the buttocks, while the other was hurt with what is described as physical injury. Both of the victims are expected to be okay. 

Search On For Cop Hit-And-Run Suspect

 (Brevard Co., FL) -- The search is on for whomever left a Brevard Sheriff's Office motorman for dead after hitting him. Authorities with the department said Officer Rickford Leitch was hurt yesterday near U.S. One and Rosa L. Jones Boulevard while assisting during a funeral procession. The officer was thrown from the bike and suffered broken bones to his hand. The officer is expected to be fine. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimeline.

New Smyrna Beach Officer Hailed As Hero

 (New Smyrna Beach, FL) -- An off-duty New Smyrna Beach officer is hailed a hero for making a rescue. New Smyrna Beach police said Officer Troy Belson stopped a child abduction attempt Friday at a McDonald's restaurant on State Road 44. Authorities said the officer saw a 54-year-old man standing in line there attempting to make the grab before the officer intervened and held the man until other officers responded. The child abductor was arrested and booked into the Volusia County jail.
