Dropkick Murphys' Ken Casey On The Opioid Epidemic: 'I’ve Been To 30, 40, 50 Funerals'

Dropkick Murphys' Ken Casey was candid about damage and loss of his dear friends and family due to the opioid epidemic ravaging the country.

In an interview with Loudwire, vocalist Al Barr and vocalist/bassist Ken Casey opened up about their recent losses. “We’ve been through a lot with people in our lives and around us overdosing and dying lately. It’s tragic, it’s of epidemic proportions,” Casey said. "Al lost his brother-in-law, I just lost a cousin, I just sang at one of my good friend’s funerals. I’ve been to 30, 40, 50 funerals in the last year — all people I knew really well,” he continued.

The band just released the album 11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory with another album scheduled to release this year.
