Sarasota Man Accused Of Plotting Racist Attack
(Sarasota, FL)-- A Sarasota man is accused of plotting a racist act of violence. The US Justice Department yesterday announced the indictment of Lucas Temple. The 20-year-old was charged for violating gun laws and receiving child sexual abuse material.Investigators, though, say they also found evidence he was planning a racially motivated act of violence, including pipe bombs, firearms and a pressure cooker. They say they also found instructions on how to manufacture explosives and a written plan as to his intentions. Temple also allegedly possessed Nazi and mass shooting propaganda.
Former Teacher Arrested For Stalking Student
(Bradenton, FL)-- A former teacher is accused of stalking a student in Manatee County.Jarrett Williams was arrested yesterday for aggravated stalking of a child under 16. The sheriff's office says he wrote an inappropriate letter to the 11-year-old 5th grader at B.D. Gullett Elementary School in Lakewood Ranch.The girl's mother told the school board the letter was a textbook example of grooming. The 35-year-old Williams resigned eight months ago.
Miami-Dade County Revoking Local Business Tax For Businesses Illegally Working With Cuban Government
(Miami, FL) -- Miami-Dade County is taking what one official calls decisive action against businesses illegally working with the Cuban government. Tax Collector Dariel Fernandez announced yesterday he's revoking the Local Business Tax for businesses engaging in illegal commerce with the Cuban communist dictatorship. That means they won't be able to operate in the county. About 30 businesses are affected. Fernandez is from Cuba, and he says he knows firsthand the suffering inflicted by the Cuban communist regime, and the county will not be used as a platform to finance or sustain it.
Catholic Church Officials Ask For Pause On Immigration Enforcement During Holidays
(Tallahassee, FL)-- Catholic Church officials are asking Governor Ron DeSantis to pause immigration enforcement activities during the holidays. The Bishops of the Catholic Church in Florida made that request yesterday. They say they're worried those who are here legally could be caught up in deportation efforts, and now is not the time to be callous toward the suffering caused by immigration enforcement.

(Undated) -- The list is out of the most festive states in the country this Christmas season.Innerbody Research analyzed search trends and the popularity of holiday trends and activities to determine which states feel the most holiday spirit and which states are the "Grinchiest." Nationwide, West Virginia, Utah and South Dakota topped the "nice list." As for the "Grinchiest" states, the top spot went to Washington, DC, followed by New York, Hawaii, Nevada and Maryland.
