Orlando Roller Coaster Set To Reopen Following Guest's Death

(Orlando, FL) -- A roller coaster at Universal Studios Epic Universe in Orlando is set to reopen today following the death of a guest last month. Universal Orlando's president announced the reopening in a letter sent to staff yesterday. Kevin Zavala died after suffering blunt impact injuries while riding Stardust Racers over two weeks ago. The family's attorney, Ben Crump, has claimed the theme park ignored similar injuries suffered by other riders. Universal Orlando president Karen Irwin said the ride's operation procedures and attraction have been updated to reinforce existing ride warnings and physical eligibility requirements.

Flood Watch Posted For Volusia, Brevard Counties

(Melbourne, FL)-- Flooding could be a problem along the coast. The National Weather Service has a Flood Watch in effect until 8:00 tonight in Volusia and Brevard counties. Excessive rainfall is expected. The NWS warns that could lead to flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone areas. 

Volusia County Boy Arrested For School Threat

(DeLand, FL) -- A Volusia County child is accused of threatening violence at his school. The sheriff's office announced yesterday 11-year-old Jesse McIntyre was arrested after allegedly threatening on TikTok to shoot up Campbell Middle School. Deputies learned of the alleged threat after a tip from the FBI. The VCSO says McIntyre did not have access to weapons.

FDOT Begins Removing Rainbow Crosswalk In Miami Beach

(Miami Beach, FL)-- The state is removing another rainbow-colored crosswalk in Miami-Dade County. FDOT crews were in Miami Beach yesterday removing sidewalk pavers at Ocean Drive and 12th Street. Residents stood by and watched and some heckled the FDOT crew. One man tells the Miami Herald it feels like an attack on the gay community, and he plans to repaint a rainbow in the crosswalk today.
