Dem's File Public Records Request For Alligator Alcatraz

(Tallahassee, FL) -- The Florida Democratic Party is filing a public records request for "Alligator Alcatraz." It's asking for all contracts and communications related to the facility in Florida's Everglades. Some lawmakers are reporting poor conditions at the illegal immigration camp, saying multiple people are packed into cages with broken toilets. The facility is expected to cost taxpayers about 450-million dollars per year.

Moody Discusses Biden Auto-Pen Scandal

(Washington, DC)-- The President Biden auto-pen story is a case of "staff gone wild. "That's what Senator Ashley Moody told Fox Business yesterday. She was commenting on a New York Times report that Biden approved allowing staff to use the auto-pen to sign pardons and commutations. Moody calls the story shocking, and she says the Judiciary Committee will look into it further. She adds this may go beyond pardons and commutations, and everything needs to be looked at.     

Man Arrested For Road Rage Incident In Volusia County

(DeLand, FL) -- A man is facing charges for an apparent road rage incident in Volusia County. The sheriff's office says Shawn Eissler [[EYE-zler]] waved a gun at another driver Friday on Turnbull Bay Road. The charges against him include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and driving under the influence. News 6 reports Eissler is being held without bond.

Pasco County Schools Announces Changes To Free Meals Program

(Dade City, FL)-- Some students in Pasco County may no longer get free meals. The school district announced yesterday it's making changes to its free meals program. Under a federal program, the district had offered free breakfast and lunch, but starting next school year, only students in high-poverty areas will get those meals free. All other schools will return to the traditional meal program. Students in those schools can still apply for free and reduced-price meals. The district says the change is necessary due to rising food costs and changes in federal legislation.

Renaissance Fair Leaving Brevard County

(Titusville, FL)-- After a decade, an annual event is leaving Brevard County. Organizers of the Brevard Renaissance Fair say they're looking for a new home for the event. It had been held at Wickham Park, and plans were in place to hold this year's event in Melbourne at Castle Park. Those plans changed, though, after issues developed between organizers, the county and the city of Melbourne. Organizers still plan to hold the event in 2026, but there's no word on where.       

Elmo's X Account Compromised By Hackers

(Undated) -- Sesame Workshop says offensive posts have been deleted after Elmo's X account was compromised by unknown hackers. It happened over the weekend with the hacker posting racist and anti-Semitic messages from the account which has nearly 650-thousand followers. Another post called for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein case files. A spokesperson for the Sesame Workshop says the account has since been secured. Many 'X' users chimed in on the change in messaging as Elmo's account has become known for its uplifting posts.
