FL Dem's Try To Visit Alligator Alcatraz

(Miami, FL) --Democratic lawmakers are being denied access to "Alligator Alcatraz." The newly-erected detention center houses thousands of illegal immigrants who were detained under the state's immigration enforcement program. Five state lawmakers tried to visit the facility last week but were turned away due to "safety reasons. "The state GOP joked with the group, saying, "Thanks for finally taking an interest in the illegal immigration crisis."

Levine Cava Wants Access To Alligator Alcatraz

(Miami, FL) --Miami-Dade County's mayor wants access to Alligator Alcatraz. Mayor Daniella Levine Cava sent letters yesterday to Homeland Security and Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier. She formally requested monitoring access to the immigrant detention facility on county property in the Everglades. Levine Cava says she's troubled by reports of dangerous conditions at ICE facilities nationwide and multiple deaths that have occurred.

Key West Commission Re-Approves Agreement With ICE

(Key West, FL) --The on-again, off-again relationship between Key West and ICE is back on. The city commission approved a 287-G agreement with the federal agency. That means ICE and the city will work together on immigration enforcement. The police chief signed the 287-G agreement in March, but the city commission voided it last week before reversing course yesterday.     

Four Teens Arrested For Armed Robbery In Volusia County

(DeLand, FL) --Four teenagers are facing armed robbery charges in Volusia County. One of the teenagers allegedly posed as a girl on Instagram and lured a man to a site in Deltona where the teens robbed him at gunpoint. Besides armed robbery, they're also charged with armed kidnapping and armed burglary of a vehicle. A 15-year-old already had an adult ankle monitor and a warrant out of Seminole County.
