Feds Urge Other States To Follow Florida's Lead

(Undated) --Other states across the U.S. are building their own versions of "Alligator Alcatraz." The illegal immigrant detention center opened in Florida's Everglades region last week. President Trump toured it, saying it could become the gold standard of detention centers. Several red states are considering similar facilities, including Georgia, South Carolina, Arkansas, Idaho, and Texas.

Man Killed Trying To Save Turtle On I-95

(Indian River Co., FL) -- An elderly man is dead after trying to rescue a turtle from a busy highway in Indian River County. The 77-year-old man from Vermont was hit by a car on Sunday afternoon. The accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-95 in Sebastian. FHP says the vehicle that hit the guy tried to slow down but was struck from behind and lost control. Drivers were at a standstill for hours while troopers investigated. 

>Lopez' Estranged Wife Posts Bond

(Tavares, FL) --Marcos Lopez' estranged wife is out of jail. Robin Severance-Lopez posted bond yesterday and was released from the Lake County Jail in Tavares. She was arrested two weeks ago as part of the racketeering case involving her estranged husband. Marcos Lopez is the Osceola County sheriff, but he was suspended after his arrest last month. He bonded out of jail three days after his wife's arrest. 

Bomb Threat Suspect Appears In Court

(St. Petersburg, FL) -- A man accused of making a bomb threat on a plane denies he did it. Taj Taylor was in court yesterday after his arrest Sunday at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport. He was on an Allegiant Air flight to Virginia when he allegedly said his laptop was a bomb. The other passenger he allegedly said this to alerted the flight crew. The plane returned to the airport and law enforcement was called. The judge denied bond for Taylor because he's considered a threat to flee. Taylor's parents tell 10 Tampa Bay their son has mental health issues.   

Man Stabbed In Fight Over Pokemon Cards

(Colma, CA) --A man is fighting for his life after he was stabbed in California following a fight over Pokemon cards. Police in Colma say the incident happened recently at a GameStop store when the victim accused another man of cutting the line at the store to buy valuable Pokemon cards. An argument ensued, and the victim was stabbed multiple times. He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.Police say two suspects in the incident were tracked down later in the day and taken into custody.
