UPDATE: Three Men Wanted In Cocoa Shooting
(Cocoa, FL) -- The Brevard County Sheriff's Office is looking for three men in connection with a shootout that injured a toddler. The gunfight happened outside a store near Catalina Drive and South Burnett Road on Tuesday afternoon. The child was shot in the pelvis and underwent surgery. Authorities say the suspects shot about 50 rounds. Two of them are juveniles and one is an adult. Surveillance photos are posted on the sheriff's office's website.

(Brandon, FL) -- The governor and the first lady are defending Hope Florida from critics, including fellow Republicans. Governor Ron DeSantis and wife Casey DeSantis held a roundtable talk in Brandon yesterday about Hope Florida. The goal of Hope Florida is to get residents off government assistance. Some lawmakers, including Republicans, have criticized how it has been funded. Casey DeSantis says those critics have been captivated by willful ignorance, and Governor DeSantis says so much of what has been said about Hope Florida is intentionally fraudulent. First Lady DeSantis tells News Channel 8 they won't allow petty politics to drown out the voices of families who say they finally feel a sense of hope.
FWC Releases Proposed Rules For Bear Hunt
(Tallahassee, FL)-- Florida's first black bear hunt in a decade is taking shape. The FWC yesterday released some rules it's proposing for the hunt it hopes to hold in December. The goal is to manage the black bear population through a conservative, well-regulated hunt. One of the rules the commission will consider at a meeting next week is to allow dogs. Hunters may also be able to shoot bears within proximity of game feeding stations. Critics are worried the rules are favored too much in favor of the hunters. One woman who advocates for bears tells the Orlando Sentinel it's going to be a massacre.
Three Charged With Kidnapping In Okaloosa County
(Fort Walton Beach, FL)-- Three people, including a teenager, are facing charges after a home was broken into in Okaloosa County. The sheriff's office announced yesterday a 17-year-old Lake County girl and a man and a woman from Marion County were arrested. They allegedly broke into a home Monday near Fort Walton Beach on Mooney Road. Deputies say they hit and pepper sprayed a man, forced him into a car and beat him again at a trailer on Carlos Drive. He was able to escape, though, to a convenience store where deputies found him. The suspects are facing charges that include kidnapping.
Homicide Suspect Caught After Memphis Police Chase With Baby In Arms
(Memphis, TN) -- A homicide suspect is accused of leading Memphis police on a chase with a baby in his arms. Cops say they tried to stop a vehicle linked to a homicide earlier this month, but the driver fled. They say he eventually ditched the car and ran off while holding the infant. He was caught after a short foot chase, and the baby was not harmed.
