Boy Bitten In Brevard County

(Cocoa Beach, FL) -- A child is hurt after a possible shark bite in Brevard County. Brevard County Fire Rescue says a 12-year-old boy was bitten yesterday afternoon in Cocoa Beach near East Cocoa Beach Causeway. He was airlifted to an Orlando hospital.

PCB Police Chief Writes Letter To Spring Breakers

(Panama City Beach, FL) -- For Spring Breakers, the good times may be over in part of Bay County. Panama City Beach Police Chief J.R. Talamantez posted a message on Facebook yesterday. It was in response to some gun crimes that took place during Spring Break. Talamantez writes Panama City Beach can no longer be a Spring Break town, and that time is over. He says he'll have serious discussions with stakeholders and city leadership about the future of Spring Break season. Talamantez closes the message by writing, "to the good visitors, you'll always be welcome. To the idiots, go somewhere else."

Tampa Shipbuilders React To New Trump Order To Boost Shipbuilding

(Tampa, FL) --A Tampa businessman is glad to see what he calls a huge change for the shipbuilding industry. Richard McCreary is president of Gulf Marine Repair on Grant Street, and he talked recently about an executive order signed last week by President Trump. It calls for the US to build more ships to promote national security and economic prosperity. McCreary thinks this could be very conducive to more shipbuilding in the US. He expects short-term disruptions, but he also tells Bay News 9 this will result in a very positive change for the industry.

Students At South Milwaukee High School Required To Take Breathalyzer Test At Prom

(South Milwaukee, WI) -- Students from South Milwaukee High School will be required to take a breathalyzer test if they want to get into their prom. A prom letter on the schools website states that "when students arrive to prom they will go through a weapons detection, have their belongings searched and will be breathalyzed." Some students are turned off by these rules and will not attend.

All Eight Ivy League Schools Accept Texas Student

(Richmond, TX) --A student in Fort Bend, Texas is saying "none of the above" after being accepted to all eight Ivy League schools. Thinh [[ Ten ]] Pham is a senior at George Bush High School, and has been given the welcome mat at Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, U-Penn, and Yale. Pham received a total of nearly three million dollars in scholarship offers. Pham says he's decided to go to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
