Human Remains Found In Brevard County ID'd
(Titusville, FL) --The search for a missing Brevard County woman is at a sad end. Titusville Police announced yesterday human remains found near Haulover Canal are those of Jessie Kirk. The 72-year-old was reported missing Tuesday morning. Her SUV was found that morning burned in Orange County. A Palm Beach County man found near Kirk's home was arrested. Police say David Barber had significant burns on his body. So far, he's not facing charges in Kirk's death, but the TPD says he's a person of interest. Barber is the ex-boyfriend of Kirk's niece and a former corrections deputy at the sheriff's office.
Volusia Co. Authorities Warn Of Buying Pills On The Street
(Volusia Co., FL) -- Authorities in Volusia County are warning the public of the dangers of buying pills on the dark web or on the street. This comes after dozens of counterfeit Xanax pills that tested positive for fentanyl were found in an overdose victim's home. According to authorities, the man was found dead earlier this week in Deltona. The victim's official cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.
Former Tampa Attorney Sentenced For Child Sex Crime
(Tampa, FL) --A former Tampa lawyer is serving time for child sex crimes. The Justice Department announced yesterday Rugh James Cline was sentenced to nine years for paying four children in Cambodia to engage in a commercial sex act with him. Prosecutors say he did this on multiple occasions before he was arrested in Cambodia. At the time of his arrest, he had a laptop that contained hundreds of images of child sexual abuse material.
DeSantis Announces Spring Break Restrictions For Miami Beach
(Miami Beach, FL) -- The governor is taking steps to keep Miami Beach safe during Spring Break.
