Planes Collide In Sanford County

(Sanford, FL) -- An investigation is underway after two small planes collided in Seminole County.Orlando Sanford International Airport says a single-engine plane landed short last night and came into contact with another single-engine plane that was parked and empty. Three people were involved, but no serious injuries were reported. 

Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz Wants Ladapo To Resign

(Washington, DC)-- A South Florida lawmaker wants Florida's surgeon general fired. Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz said yesterday Dr. Joseph Ladapo [[ LAD-uh-po ]] should be terminated immediately. She spoke after Broward County confirmed its ninth case of measles this month. Seven of the cases are from a school in Weston where Wasserman Schultz has a home. She says measles is a public health threat to Florida and so is Joe Ladapo. She calls Ladapo a misinformation super spreader for allowing parents to send unvaccinated kids to school as cases mount. Wasserman Schultz criticized his decision not to declare an emergency, recommend or require vaccinations and not require quarantining potentially exposed children.She calls those MAGA policies.

Shot Fired At Off-Duty MDPD Officer

(North Miami Beach, FL)-- An investigation is underway after someone shot at a car a Miami-Dade Police officer was driving. It happened yesterday in North Miami Beach in the area of Northeast 183rd Street and 18th Ave. Miami-Dade Police say the officer was in his personal car with his family when it was hit by a bullet. No one was hurt. No arrest has been announced, and there's no word on a motive.

Family Dollar To Pay Millions After Warehouse Rat Infestation

(West Memphis, AR)-- Family Dollar Stores will pay a 40-million dollar fine after pleading guilty to unsanitary conditions in a "rodent-infested warehouse." The FDA in February 2022 reported finding over one-thousand rats inside the West Memphis, Arkansas warehouse which caused a recall of products from over 400-stores. The fine is part of a plea deal and is the largest monetary criminal penalty ever given in a food safety case. Family Dollar must now meet safety standards for the next three years.
