BML Tuesday: Lober resigns from commission- did someone find a chair?

Governor Ron DeSantis has signed the Parental Rights in Education bill…and it doesn’t say “gay.” That, of course, is of no concern to Disney as the Mouse House continues to push the lie on an uneducated public. That’s pretty much hour one of our show today.

The blockbuster news comes in hour two as County Commissioner Bryan Lober is resigning from the seat and presumably not running to be reelected in November’s election. Lober’s been under fire for the past several weeks as his spending of CARES Act money has come under scrutiny after his use of the less scrutinized P-Cards issued commission offices for questioned purchases. Lober’s reaction to the scrutiny was aggressively defensive, a typical Lober ploy, that only served to raise questions about his actions and ethics.

Not that we’ll have time for it today, but the Brevard School Board is floating the idea of a millage rate increase on our property taxes. Given how the district spends our money currently, this is a bad idea. Encouraging more race based policies, boys in girls’ locker rooms and the purchase of BPS Library Porn have not been good for our schools. The trust is broken. The money funnel should not be opened.

Hour three brings Dave Bowman back to our Dave Does History feature. It’s week three of President Eisenhower and Ike’s in office. Dave takes us on our weekly journey in the Wayback Machine.
