In Thursday's 7am hour we discussed a story of a Brevard 7 year-old with Down's Syndrome. She was sent home from school one day with a mask (which she had the propensity to remove) bound to her head so she could not take it off. It was soaked with spittle and the father was outraged. This child has an IEP and accommodation should be made. The governor came to Brevard, introduced the issue and the father in a press conference. The press chose to largely ignore this part of the story, choosing to rehash three-week-old news about the state and the Biden administration battling federal involvement in local school board issues.
