Today we begin with math. One thing about math I like is that the answer is right or wrong. It's (forgive the racist expression) black and white! OK, higher math may give you same gray or one of those ugly Godforsaken colors you never use in the Crayola box of 64, but basic math- the kind we all use for everyday life- is simple and direct. Maybe not anymore. It got me to thinking- what’s a world without absolutes look like?
IN A HANDBASKET we are back on race. What is it about race that it must infiltrate all aspects of everything? We are going to extremes and this one is stupid!
In the political realm, James Carville (who along with wife Mary Matalin guested on the man behind the Golden EIB microphone podcast last week) is calling out the Democrat errors as they move toward losing elections. Apparently Cuban protests are like Trump rallies- super spreaders, unlike Seattle or Portland. North Carolina isn’t just visiting door to door to ask about vaccines, they are taking the shots along with them. The wrath of the gods has come down on a George Floyd mural in Toledo.
In Florida, Governor DeSantis is busy recruiting cops to come work here and taking heat from the American Federation of Teachers president who, hopefully, isn’t a math teacher. The state board of education has adopted new standards. It remains to be seen if they are any better. Palm Bay’s city council is trying to take away voter voices in replacing council members who leave the job before their term is concluded. It seems all of Palm Bay likes power politics when they have the numbers.
Leftover from our WIDE OPEN WEDNESDAY are these stories: a CA judge saying Smith & Wesson can be sued for gun crimes even though federal law protects them, a federal panel ruling that states can’t refuse gun sales to adults 18-20 (take that FL legislature and MSD infringements) and the letter Bill Posey shared with us on Tuesday’s show.
