(Titusville, FL) -- Titusville Police detectives are heading to Tennessee to question a murder suspect. A car belonging to 27-year-old Courtney Gibson was found Wednesday with the body of a missing Brevard County woman in the trunk. Gibson turned herself in yesterday morning. Anna Primavere had last been seen on Friday when police believe she confronted Gibson about injuries to a child Gibson was babysitting.
Man With Gun Reported At Disney Resort
(Orlando, FL) -- A false alarm is responsible for a brief scare on Disney property. Orange County deputies responded last night to Walt Disney World's Beach Club Resort on Epcot Resorts Boulevard. Someone had claimed seeing a man with a gun under his jacket, but nothing was found after a search that included helicopters. Deputies say they take all potential threats seriously, and they ask anyone who sees something suspicious to report it.
Man Killed In Police Shooting
(Jacksonville, FL) -- A man is dead after he was shot by a Jacksonville police officer. It happened yesterday morning in Arlington on Caribbean Court where a man barricaded himself in his ex-wife's home. The JSO says the man was shot after he came out of the home and pointed a gun at officers. He died at the scene, but no officers were hurt, and an investigation is underway.
Man Shot By Deputies In Manatee County
(Bradenton, FL) -- Manatee County's sheriff feels blessed his deputies avoided injury in what he calls a dangerous incident. Deputies were involved in a shootout last night in Bradenton on 47th Terrace East with a man wanted by the FBI. It started when deputies say the man refused to pull his hands out of his pockets and opened fire. Two deputies fired back and hit the man, who was taken to the hospital and is in serious condition.
Police K9 Hurt During Search For Suspect
(Miami, FL) -- There's good news for a Tampa Bay police dog injured on the job in South Florida. The Pasco County Sheriff's Office said yesterday that a K9 was bitten by a water moccasin in the Everglades while searching for a missing baby. The dog was given anti-venom and his prognosis for recovery is good. He was looking for signs of Andrew Caballeiro, who went missing last month after being kidnapped by his father, who was found dead in Blanton after shooting himself.
Survey: Some Americans Avoiding Corona Beer Amid Coronavirus Spread
(Undated) -- A new survey suggests some Americans aren't drinking Coronas due to the coronavirus outbreak. The survey, conducted by 5W Public Relations, says 38-percent of beer drinkers in the U.S. are actively avoiding Corona beers. There is no link between the virus and the alcohol other than sharing a name. 5W's founder says despite this, the product's branding is seriously suffering, arguing that no one wants to walk into a bar and say “can I have a Corona." Other findings in the survey did show a small amount of regular Corona beer consumers will not order the drink in public.
Arkansas Courthouse Evacuated Following Woman's False Coronavirus Claim
(Little Rock, AR) -- Everything has returned to normal following a coronavirus scare at a district courthouse in Arkansas. Officials say 34-year-old Celia Hill was appearing at the Mayflower District Court on drug charges when she claimed she had a high fever and might have the global illness. The building was evacuated, and Hill was taken to a hospital on a stretcher though she initially refused. After testing negative for coronavirus, authorities determined that Hill lied. She now faces more charges including filing a false report, obstructing governmental operations and contempt of court.
Body Recovered After Hearse Theft, Police Chase, Crash
(Los Angeles, CA) -- In an update to a story we told you yesterday- A police pursuit involving a stolen hearse ended with a crash during yesterday's morning rush hour in South L.A. Police say the Lincoln Navigator was stolen Wednesday night with a casket still inside while a mortician was dropping off another body at a church in Pasadena. Police engaged in a pursuit after spotting the stolen Navigator. The chase lasted for about a minute until the hearse crashed on the southbound 110 Freeway. A suspect was taken into custody. The body and casket were recovered.
