Child Molester Sentenced To Probation

(Orlando, FL) -- A child molester who worked at an Orange County daycare won't have to spend any more time behind bars. Jayrico Hamilton was sentenced yesterday to 15 years probation for molesting a four-year-old boy while working at Bright Horizons at Baldwin Park over a year ago. Hamilton has spent about 450 days in jail. The boy's parents told the court that their son will have to go through the rest of his life knowing he trusted someone who hurt him, and their family has been hurt terribly. 

Teacher Arrested For Abusing Autistic Student 

(Palm Bay, FL) -- A Brevard County teacher is facing charges for her treatment of an autistic student. Lockmar Elementary School teacher Joyce O'Connor is accused of pulling the student off a bus last week in Palm Bay, which caused him to fall on his face onto the pavement. He was not hurt. The 54-year-old teacher is on leave.

Deputy Treated For Exposure To Fentanyl 

(Clermont, FL) -- Three people are facing charges after a traffic stop almost turned deadly for a deputy and two firefighters in Lake County. The unidentified deputy pulled over a car yesterday on Florida Boys Ranch Road near Clermont. The deputy passed out after being exposed to what appears to be fentanyl that was in the car, and another deputy had to use Narcan to revive him. The anti-overdose drug was also used on two firefighters who got sick after responding to the scene.

Plane Lifted From St. Johns River 

(Jacksonville, FL) -- A large jet is now out of the St. Johns River. Cranes lifted the Boeing 737 this afternoon and set it down on top of a barge so it can be moved to another location. Once there, it will be examined by the NTSB. Investigators are trying to determine what caused it to skid off the runway Friday while landing at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station.

Trump To Campaign In Panama City Beach 

(Panama City Beach, FL) -- President Trump is likely to get a warm welcome in his return to Bay County, especially if he does what the governor wants. Trump is holding a rally in Panama City Beach in his first visit to the city since Hurricane Michael. Governor Ron DeSantis will be there, and he hopes Trump will make some news by announcing federal relief aid for the area. The free rally is set for 7:00 Central time tonight.

New York City Destroyed In Simulation 

(New York, NY) -- Space agencies from around the world are running simulations of how the world would respond to a massive asteroid strike. In the past week, experts from NASA and the European Space Agency pretended that New York City was destroyed. It's an annual exercise held at the International Academy of Astronautics Planetary Defense Conference. Last year, the group saved Tokyo from disaster by launching a nuke at the space rock. This time, efforts were less successful and in an effort to deflect the asteroid from hitting Denver, they knocked a piece off course into New York. The city was destroyed, but they had some time to evacuate millions of hypothetical residents before impact.

Rodent Kidney Causes Bubonic Plague Deaths 

(Mongolia) -- A Mongolian couple is dead after ingesting a raw rodent kidney for "good health." Officials instituted a six-day quarantine of 118 people in a province which borders China and Russia. The World Health Organization says locals and foreign tourists were contained because of possible exposure. The plague is often transmitted through infected fleas and rodents.Mongolian officials say at least one person a year dies from eating infectious raw meat.
