You had one job…the line is usually followed by a punch line indicating massive failure at a simple task. Tonight it’s deadly serious.
Brevard’s School Board’s one job is to adopt a policy that will protect students and personnel in the event of an active shooter. .
The best of the new options would add school employees whose only job would be to be that line of protection as an armed intermediary in the dreaded situation of an active shooter.
It’s a step, but a very small one.
It’s also an excuse for administrators to float the idea of an additional tax, most of which would go to teacher salaries.
School Board, tonight you’ve got one job…don’t become the punch line.
