Now through May, Brevard Zoo’s education department is offering action-packed experiences for children ages 2-13 and, in some cases, their parents. Each class is taught by a trained professional and typically includes animal encounters, games, crafts and a peek behind the scenes of Zoo operations. February 9 - The City of Palm Bay is proud to announce the creation of Palm Bay’s first community band. The Band of the Bay is a not-for-profit 501c3 and open to all musicians. Rehearsals are held each Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 in Palm Bay. The only requirement is that you read music. Interested musicians just need to bring their instrument and a music stand. March 11 - Recycled paint will be available to residents of Brevard County at five Richard Paint stores and one Ace Hardware store. The paint is free to homeowners in limited quantities. Homeowners will be able to receive up to 10 gallons of one color for the shell of the house and up to three gallons of a second color for trim. Paint will be available on a first come first served basis only. Proof of home ownership will be required in order to obtain paint (i.e. valid driver’s license with the current residential address or property tax notice).
